If my parents knew I was making a blog they'd have about three hernias apiece
Actually, if my parents knew what a blog was, I'd have about two hernias. Actually, I think I have a hernia. Or at least my doc thinks I have the start of one. You know, turn your head and cough. Here goes. My first attempt at a blog. I've been wanting to do this for a while. I'll pontificate about politics, journalism, the Episcopal Church, books and music, and maybe a few other things. Also will try to reaquaint myself with my UNCGbuds, whom I never see but who live on with me forever. I wanted to be a physicist at one time. Newton had his second law of physics, here's nunnster's first law of physics. "You pulled the string and it moved." So I ditched physics after having to hide from my lab instructor after cutting class. The best way I found to get away from him was get on a skateboard on a sidewalk and fire off a fire extinguisher. it's like a damn rocket, i tell you. So, next I decided to be a man of letters, D's and F's that is (sorry Dave, I couln't resist). Anyway, I've got a lot to say and thought I'd better start saying it before the Patriot Act police try to censor me. I'll give you some fun political stuff later.I'm somewhat hawkish on defense (especially after 911), libertarian on issues of morality and don't really trust big business but haven't figured a better way yet to make a living. The blog I read most is www.andrewsullivan.com/ (a conservative gay republicanhawk) myself being a left-leaning moderate, heterosexual (yes, i finally got married, on my 40th birthday), hawk. I also read a conservative blog on the Episcopal Church called titusonenine.classicalanglican.net/. Idisagree with almost everything on there but I sort of enjoy getting pissed off at the fundamentalists who seem to know the mind of God. I'm a liberal when it comes to God and church stuff. Anyway, must go now. It's late. It's always late. A glass of wine, a glance through today's paper (which i get at midnight each night since I'm usually at work when it's printed.) I'msupposed to be off today but a workmate got put on a jury today so i'll be filling in for him. There's no justice in that for me, it seems like. But just doing my part for democracy!
Please come back for more. This is fun.
